Scape*dance DVD

Machida will release a DVD "Scape*dance" in April, 2011. "Scape*dance" series are expression of "dance of light". It's animation work consist of 1,000 photographic paper works and music. These photographic paper works was made with only sun light exposure without camera. By the over-exposure, pink colored delicate images can be appeared on the B/W photographic paper. These images are the traces memorized each different spatial-temporal states of the light. The works were scanned and converted to digital image data. The huge amount of images were edited and produced different versions; edited each 3 frames with or without sound, 2 frames, scratched, echo effect, etc... The sound was also cut up and passed through granular synthesis. Improvisation of Steelpan was used for the most long version. Thus, 7 "dance of light" versions were produced.
